Working in a design consortium led by Lopes Santos & Ferreira Gomes + OA Oficina de Arquitetos + Paulo Casé P/A, AndArchitects’ knowledge of temporary structures has allowed them to creatively approach the Rio 2016 brief and design an arena which also contributes to the city of Rio as it grows and develops. The Rio 2016 Handball Arena is designed to be disassembled after the games and reconstructed into four schools.
